Recently, Marie-Charlotte from our R&D team participated in the IMCD Customer Days in Cologne, a two-day training hosted in their application lab.

During this hands-on training, she deepened her knowledge of the supplier’s ingredient portfolio, including new and branded ingredients, and explored key trends such as gut health and clean label solutions.

A strong focus was placed on technical troubleshooting in solid dosage forms. Together with lab experts, common tableting challenges were analysed, looking at both formulation and process-related causes, as well as practical solutions. Live demonstrations on a small-scale tableting machine, combined with analyses of flowability and density, provided valuable insights for real-life production environments.

In addition, interactive sessions highlighted the importance of sensory experience in consumer perception. Through practical exercises, ranging from flavour and aroma testing to experiments showing how environmental factors influence product evaluation, it became clear how crucial sensory optimisation is in product development. Hands-on lab work on flavour development, bitter masking and clean label formulations further strengthened this understanding.

Beyond the technical learnings, the event also provided a great opportunity to connect with industry peers and strengthen our collaboration with IMCD.

For us as a company, actively engaging in trainings, workshops, industry events and trade fairs is essential. It enables our R&D team to continuously expand their expertise, stay aligned with the latest innovations and translate new insights into high-quality, market-ready solutions.

This ongoing investment in knowledge and partnerships is what allows us to support our customers with strong technical know-how, in-depth ingredient expertise and advanced flavour development, ultimately helping them bring innovative and successful products to market.
